The two great friends and musicians, Caleb Carman and Alexander Parke met as sophomores at Bard College.

 

Alexander, with beautiful phrasing and incredible energy, brings his ethnomusicological approach and vast Klezmer and Brazilian repertoire. Caleb, with his delicate but firm musicality, has his truly vast baroque, classical, romantic, and modern repertoire, having a truly deep understanding of the classical repertoire.

 The two have played together for years now having performed in numerous scenarios and stages. Some examples are The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NYC), soloists at The Fischer Center with the Orchestra Now (Bard College), Blum Hall (Bard College), and more.

 

 The Symposium Duo is a truly upcoming Duo having a magnificent and diverse sound.

Alexander Borger Parke is a clarinetist from São Paulo, Brazil; currently based off of New York City. Since picking up the clarinet in 2017, Alex has been part of various musical projects and has gained renown for his musicality and musical intention. As an ethnomusicology major at Bard College, Alex focuses on the Klezmer style rooted in the tradition of Ashkenazi Jews, while also giving attention to other styles such as Brazilian and European classical music. Alex is the founder of several active musical groups, including the Bard College Klezmer Club, The Living Shtetl, Tigerdog Zebrafish, Folkloria, Rushevsky Duo, and the São Paulo-based Klezmer Três Rios.

Caleb L. Carman (b. 1999) is a classical composer-pianist. He received his BA degree in music composition from Bard College in 2022. Among his compositions are The Caucasian Chalk Circle (2019), Elegy for Piano (2020), and Dream (2021). He plays much of the classical and contemporary keyboard repertoire, from Byrd to Bolcom. He currently lives in Manhattan, New York.
